Episode 17: Monica Mitchell Trains, Trains And More Train‪s‬

Updated: Feb 18, 2021

Our guest on this episode is Monica Mitchell who’s the Main Street director in Cordele, Georgia. She explained the Main Street marketing concept and shares some of the downtown love—the heart of soul of the town. There are an average of 85 trains a day that go through Cordele —the locals say it sounds like money when those trains go through the community. There are only two other diamond tracks in the state of Georgia and one is in Cordele, Georgia. So much happening in this little community! Rural communities sometimes lose the young people, but through educating the public of what is happening in the area both the appreciation and love can grow. Monica shares insights of the importance of mentoring and what it’s like to raise a family in rural America. Song used by permission "Stomp" by Donica Knight and Jim Huff
